New Delhi, March 5: The Delhi government today decided to open another branch of Delhi State Cancer Institute, with 800 beds. The new branch of the institute with ultra-modern facilities will be in south Delhi, said an official. This was decided in a meeting chaired by Health Minister A.K. Walia. The government has decided to earmark 14 acre land in Chhatarpur for the institute. The officials concerned have been directed to expedite speed work to enable the city government to commence this important project. It was also decided that in order to provide cancer care facilities in south Delhi, a separate branch of the DSCI would start functioning by September this year as an out-patient department (OPD) and day-care centre.(IANS) |
